Auto Config and Auto Detect do not maintain continued ipv6 addressing
I had forgotten how badly Orbi routers were with respect to maintaining ipv6 connectivity. I wish I had remembered this before spending THIS AMOUNT of money for the new WiFi 7 kit.
Auto Config...

I've asked others in a different area with the 970 series and this ISP. None has returned mentioning having problems with Auto Config or Detect failing on there systems. Related discussions doesn't mean same model is effected. Different core systems between the models.
Again something to let NG know if your having issues with your system. If there is a bug, won't be fixed here in the forums. NG will need to address it.
Good Luck.

This is a forum. I will update what I encounter and learn about this issue for the benefit of others experiencing the same issue.
Netgear is notorious for IPv6 issues.

Hi YourMainDude,
Engineering Team here. We will like to understand your issue more by understanding your setting on the modem side with modem model.
If possible can please provide screen shots of modem settings. From Orbi, I am assuming settings were left to default?

As FYI, the CM series is a modem only and there are no user configurations with the modems WEB UI. Just general information and cable diagnostic information. Something that maybe should be looked at.

Got it so your Modem is CM2000. That mean you are enabling IPv6 from Router side. Thank you for confirming this. What issue symptom are you seeing? We understand there is a current issue with IPv6 but if you can describe user symptom it will be easier to escalate issue.
Will be escalating this issue to get a fix for you as soon as possible.

Periodically testing IPv6 test sites fail on a random basis. Sometimes within a matter of minutes - other times, the "time to live" via IPv6 addressing works for longer - but never for many hours or even days. IPv4 always passes.
If I disconnect my computer from the WiFi connection and re-enable, it will revive IPv6 functionality.
Interestingly enough, Android mobile devices never pass the IPv6 test.
Having done a ton of research on the issue, I got to thinking that maybe it was an ISP issue. But now having tried my original Linksys Velop 6e Mesh system and a newly acquired Qnap router - both of those hold stable IPv6 performance without a hitch. So my guess is something is amiss in the Orbi 971 in terms of how the DHCP handshaking is maintained and 'advertised' between the Node and clients on any routine basis. The mere fact than not a single Android mobile device will ever pass any web-based IPv6 test is also quite telling.
I'll also put this out there as matter of due course: I'm willing to be a test-case site for any beta release on f/w. That can be handled through the channels already established. All you guys have to do is... ask!

Understood. By any chance do you have a Pixel 8 in your home? We currently have an issue with Pixel where it is crashing but we have a fix already but the firmware is not publicly release and it is in early stage.
If you do not have, please ignore the above. Please let me know which ipv6 test you are running. Will reach out to you privately as well to get you going in latest firmware release.
