BUG - WiFi 6E stops IPv6 working on WiFi
On any device that is WiFi 6E capable - iPad 2024, iPhone 15 Pro, 2-MacBook Pros are the ones I have - if WiFi 6E is enabled, there is no IPv6 on a WiFi connection - period. If WiFi 6E is turned off ...

CrimpOn reported to Apple. To modify what you said:
- To Netgear, because enabling WiFi6E on ANY Apple product THAT IS WIFI 6E CAPABLE causes IPv6 to disappear from THAT DEVICE ONLY connected to the Orbi system over WiFi. (Apple and non Apple? ONLY 6E CAPABLE DEVICES I HAVE ARE APPLE. Apple devices capable of WiFi6E but which do not have it enabled at this time? THEY ARE FINE)
- What about wired devices? NO ISSUE - EVEN THE SAME DEVICES IF FLIPPED TO WIRED, WORK FINE THEN

Roc1 for me the only thing that works consistently is turning off WiFi 6E. I thought moving satellite fixed it, but it did not.
WIFi 6E implementation has issues. I have seen two problems now - the 5G flipping, and IPv6 not working. NG needs to look at this closely.

My iPhone just went into this “won’t connect to anything” state again. It won’t even connect to the Orbi 971 2.4Ghz IoT which should have nothing to do with the 6Ghz band.
I turned off the iPhone 6E mode (it will remain off!) , I then went to WiFi Settings (remember, I haven’t moved from the same spot inside my house since I noticed I lost WiFi connection earlier today because Apple News wouldn’t load, because of no WiFi/internet connection, even though my iPhone still showed full Orbi WiFi bars?!?!? How can this be?? ) to select the 2.4 IoT setting, my iPhone had already automatically connected via 5Ghz band to main 971 router!
Going into/out-of airplane mode last night didn’t snap Orbi mesh out of the funk, so my work around had been to connect to the IoT SSID (which it always had done quickly, and after it connected to 2.4Ghz, I could then reconnect to the main SSID on 6Ghz band, until last night, neither of those two worked last night.
After I decided to get up from the couch last night, and go reboot the router in our home-office, suddenly, and with me only thinking about re-booting, the WiFi indicator on my iPhone popped back up, and everything was working again, in 6Ghz band???
How can this be?? All my Orbi’s are mounted on a NG bracket about 6’ high on house walls, I still added a fan on top of all three as everyone on NG Community with NG WiFi 7 equipment inside racks or closets said the WiFi drops stopped when they cooled the unit. Unless I move all 3 of my units inside a refrigerator (I’ll have to go buy two more first!!), I can’t get them any cooler.
Did I miss some NG fine print, are these only rated for use outside in Siberia??- donawaltAug 09, 2024Mentor - Experienced User
It's not temperature based Roc1 , it's WiFi 6E. With that off and staying off, I bet you won't see any more issues. Just make sure if you do see an issue, check the settings - you may see 6E is back on "Automatic".
I have found some operations turn 6E back to Automatic - I have not verified, but maybe things for example like toggling WiFi off/on, rebooting phone, etc. Not all of them, just verify if you see an issue.
