I have spent weeks trying to get my pixel 8 pro to work on the orbi 970. When I first got it every time the pixel would connect to the router, the router would immediately reboot. They gave me beta f...

I have updated to the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL with the same issues. The new pixel may have a better algorithm for deciding when to use the cell network vs wifi calling but I have had two dropped calls this morning on wifi calling with wifi 7 on the Orbi 970/971. I have uploaded schematics with netgear support and sent all my phone and router logs. I have gigabit internet and 100% signal strength through the house with 4 satellites. If I stay in one place I can usually stay connected.

2789 square feet per google, 4 satellites for complete coverage plus 1 router, guest house not included in calculation. The wifi calls drop as I am looking at a satellite on the desk when coming into the kitchen.
- AbbasRazaAug 27, 2024GuideTo be honest, just forget about this system. I have given up completely. Orbi 6e (system before this) was their best mesh system with zero issues. This 970 is a NIGHTMARE!!!! I have resorted to Nest wifi pro (1 router and 1 mesh point) and it has been amazing for 3 months now with no issues at all.
- TOPS119Aug 27, 2024LuminaryGoogle is garbage too but I must agree this Orbi system is not the best, this was the biggest waste of money in history
- AbbasRazaAug 27, 2024GuideIf google nest wifi pro is garbage then which wifi is actually good in the market right now? Fast and reliable
- AbbasRazaAug 27, 2024GuideOn another note... Is there a way we can get our hard earned money back for buying this stupid system!!!!
- TOPS119Aug 27, 2024LuminaryCall it a lost my guy you ain’t getting a dollar back worst if you never bought it from them directly

What's the building materials comprised off? Mostly wood?
For that size of home, you only need the RBR and 1 RBS. Having 4 would be too much: https://youtu.be/UR0viMLISz4
Would cause any wifi device to have problems picking and locking on to one good signal as there maybe too much and too much wifi over lap.
I have a 5K sq ft home and only run two RBS. I can get away with one RBS.
Can you try turning OFF 3 RBS and check with your device again?

Thank you Kevin.
- sgarrAug 27, 2024StarHi Furry, what Wi-Fi 7 devices do you have connected and are you having any issue with Wi-Fi calling? Home is mainly wood, it is 5085 square feet If you include the guest house. The house is 3 stories and I have a satellite in the window to help give that area better coverage. The YouTube video at the end states that one access point per floor is good and that's pretty much what I have with one additional one in the kitchen. That YouTube video does not discuss Wi-Fi 7 however nor WiFi calling. I have disconnected two satellites before and just used one router with one satellite and I was not getting reliable gigabit internet with Wi-Fi 7 in each room. I added two more satellites to make sure that the internet connection would remain on Wi-Fi. 7 as much as possible in each room. The drop zones in the kitchen and porch and washing machine room do not occur with the additional satellites. The Wifi calling is the major issue when going from room to room. I unplugged two satellites again just to see what would happen and the internet dropped to 300 or 400 Mbps in the kitchen compared with 1Gbps and WiFi calling was able to hop on mobile network like usual sometimes it drops during this process. I have about 30 or 40 ft between satellites Netgear should state you can't have more than one satellite if it becomes unstable however, I have the same issue either way. Hopefully there will be some updates that will help with the Wi-Fi calling issues. I'm posting this with voice to text on my Google pixel 9 pro XL so I apologize if there are any typos.
