Issue with various apps on android devices
Since upgrading to the 870 mesh system various apps on my wife's android phone aren't loading. Everything is fine on iOS devices but apps such and the BBC News app are failing to load on the android ...

Disable ipv6 in router. Those app are looking for ipv6 and the router stops passing traffic with it on android devices randomly. Its a known problem. Usually turning wifi on and off on the phone gets it working again for a bit. That is till it stops working again. I have had the same issue for months on my 770 system. 870 has same issue. The only other thing you can do is download the warp app from cloudflare off the android store. The vpn will make ipv6 work even if your ISP doesnt support it but I have noticed the dl speeds are not as fast as without it. Right now I just have ipv6 disabled myself till netgear figures out ipv6.

I did that yesterday and so far, it seems to have worked so far. Would have been nice if netgear just provided a "disable ipv6" rather than not but it is what it is. Since doing it though, the Orbi app no longer lists any connected devices. When I try and load "device manager" it states: Sorry, your devices list failed to load. please try later.
I can still see the connected devices on the web interface for the router but the Orbi app can't manage it anymore.

Try force stopping the orbi app and clearing the cache then restart phone. If that doesnt do it then force stop again and clear data for the app this time, restart the phone then log back in to orbi and see if they load now. If not either of those no clue. The app is working on my phone with ipv6 disabled.

Thanks but I've tried all that. Even completely removed the app from my phone and re-downloaded it. Still have the problem. Thanks for the reply though.
