Major Latency Spike Every Hour at the Same Exact Minute of Every Hour
Every hour my netgear orbi satelite gets a major lag spike of about 50-100ms at the same exact time consisting of 3 spikes and while gaming online these lags last for about 20-30 seconds of actual ti...

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router?
How are you connected to the RBS, wireless or ethernet?
Does this happen if you game connected to the RBR only?
What kind of gaming are you doing?
What kind of game device are you using? Console or PC?

Firmware: v10.5.13.1
Model # Of ISP modem: BGW320-505 it is an AT&T fiber modem installed last year in 2024
I have a brand new cat 8 ethernet cable cable of 40gbps speeds connecting orbi router and ISP modem into the 2.5 gbps port on the orbi router coming from a 5gb port on AT&T modem
1 satelite and 1 router
I don't know the size of the home or distance between them but when I check the orbi connection for the satelite online it says it's connection is good or excellent & highlighted green
Only happens to devices connected to the satelite so it would not happen on the router if satellites were turned off
Yes happens with both wired and wireless devices connected to the satelite only
I have the channels set to automatic for 2.4ghz and 5ghz the 6ghz I tried multiple still happens
It doesn't happen if I wire an erhernet from the orbi router directly to my ps5 console nor does it happen if I wire ethernet from AT&T modem directly, only happens when I wire ethernet to the orbi satelite
All devices lag for a few seconds that are connected to the satelite whether wired or wireless but it's only very noticeable on the ps5 while live gaming online and lasts 20ish seconds my laptop connected wirelessly to satelite will lag in voice call for a few seconds only during the time

is the netgear in access point mode? Or the att gateway in passthrough mode? Otherwise you're in a double nat.

AT&T doesn't allow you to set their modem in bridge mode so you have to use pass-through and create a lease for the orbi router which I did. However, I never did any of that with my old netgear rbr50 mesh router and never had this problem with the same internet.

Make sure the modem is using it's DMZ or IP pass thru for the RBR as this modem already has a built in router.

Will need to get distances between the RBR and RBS if you can. Have someone help you with this.

Best would be ethernet connected to the RBR for best gaming results. Wireless and distances could cause some issues when gaming connected to the RBS.

Ya I disabled the wifi on the AT&T modem and put it in pass-through mode and assigned a lease for the netgear orbi router or whatever you had to do.
It's probably around 30-40 ft max between the router and satellite and the satelite is 1 floor down from router. Like I said it says excellent when I look at satelite connection on orbi router login web page.
I know the best ideal situation would be to wire ethernet directly to the router but it's just not possible right now and that still wouldn't solve the issue of the satellite lagging every hour but it does solve the ps5 lagging while gaming issue cause I ran an ethernet through my entire house connected to router and it didn't do it.

Ok, I'm going to put my 770 series back online and help check this. I normally game from the RBR always. I just had my 770 series online for past month and was going pretty good. Seems to be others as well seeing this and NG is aware of it.
