Orbi 770 Mesh devices drop wifi | Wired never drops
I have a 3000 sqft multilevel home, two new 770 Orbi Mesh devices. I have an Orbit on first floor and an Orbit on second at the far end. When in my bedroom which is in between the two devices, my l...

Changed channels for both bands, still having issue
Upgraded both to the latest firmware instructions, still having issues
Sent support more logs while having drops and let them know changing channels and upgrading firmware didn't help.
I feel like the RBR has hardware issues, there is no reason a mesh system should need this much attention to run properly. Hoping support comes up with something, thanks again for all the recommendations!

Check with NG support and ask about an RMA, particularly a cross RMA. See if they will ship you another RBR only unit and then test it out and see if the problems continue or not...
- crowe2024Oct 03, 2024TutorThanks, o requested that yesterday and they replied that they will escalate to the team that can process an RMA etc.
Today I had a terrible connection upstairs sitting beside the satellite. Login to the satellite directly and find all bands are disabled. I will see if a reboot or sync fixes that. No idea why they are disabled. - crowe2024Oct 05, 2024TutorWaiting for level two support to hopefully look at my captures and make a decision on next steps.
I also notice WiFi 7 doesn’t show anywhere and I have WiFi 7 capable devices. - FURRYe38Oct 06, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Which devices do you have that support WiFi7.
I only have a BE200 PCI adatper card in one of my desktop PCs. Windows 11/24H2. It's showed as being connected at WiFi7 and MLO when I had my 770 series online.
- crowe2024Oct 06, 2024TutorI have two new iPhones.
But more importantly, I ordered a new 770 RBR, and my issues have disappeared.
Planning on returning it next week but wanted to see if that resolved the issue since nothing else has helped.
I wish I could just get support talked into an RMA but they keep dragging things out. - crowe2024Oct 06, 2024TutorYes, and I have the units in the same position my original set was in.
I emailed them advising I no longer have the issue with this new set but will definitely return the new set so I’m not out another $600+ - FURRYe38Oct 06, 2024Guru - Experienced User
And using same version of FW?
Seems to confirm there is a issue with the current 1st Orbi set. Definately let them know and ask about an RMA.
- crowe2024Oct 06, 2024TutorYes, both sets running the latest version.
I also notice the orbi mobile app is very responsive versus set with issues it would take some time to load and go to settings etc. - crowe2024Oct 08, 2024Tutor
The only thing we have noticed with the new set I just received is periodic slowness when on our laptops and connected to one of the satellites.
Anyone have a suggestion for that?
Thanks in advance, still waiting to hear back from NG level 2 to see if we can move forward with an RMA or not.
