Orbi 873 issues with Printer/Thermostats

So I have the Orbi 873 on firmware V10.5.19.4_1.1.27 (though this happens on the older firmware).  I have two types of devices that are having issues connecting to the system.  One is an HP Officejet 8600 printer, and the other is some Trane XL950 thermostats.  They are able to see all of the networks, but they are not able to connect to any of them (including a 2.4 only IoT network.  When I attempt to do so, it just times out and they can't connect.

I'm at a loss on how to correct this issue without adding additional Access Points.  All of these devices worked on my Orbi 753 system without the need of an IoT network, so I'm not sure why now they don't work at all.  I have either the router or a Satellite close to all of these devices, and I'm not sure what might be causing the overall issue with those devices connecting.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • What security mode is set on the RBR for wireless security, mixed mode or single mode?

As a quick test, disabling WPA security on the main WLAN, can these devices connect at all to the main WLAN or try the IoT network when set to None? Enable WPA security after trying this step.

Wondering if you set up the RBR750 with same SSID name and password and get these connected, then just turn OFF the 750, would they migrate to the BE system while left online?

I see the printer has a ethernet port. Can you connect the printer to the RBR or RBS via ethernet?

What  channels are you using on the BE system?
