Orbi 970 constantly drops wifi to devices

Yes that would be a good test to try and observe.
The one at 70 feet though, may need to move that in closer to the RBR.Also have you opened a support ticket regarding this with NG yet?

How is the RBS ethernet connected to the RBR? Directy to the back of the RBR? Or is there any kind of patch panel, wall jack or LAN switch in between them? There are some wall patch outlets between, but the same confg worked with the old device.
Which LAN ports are you using on the RBR and RBS to ethernet connect them to each other? 10G ports
What CAT# LAN cable are you using between the RBR and RBS? CAT6A STP is recommended. Cat6
What channels did you change to on the RBR?

Possible some odd issues with patch panels or wall out lets. 10Gb can be more sensitive than 1Gb LAN ports.

Preforming the test with the RBS off now, will post the results - it can take a few hours to see a disconnect. I have noticed the disconnects happen on devices connected to either the RBR or RBS, not at the same time, but randomly.

Would disconnecting the wired backhaul also be a valid test - i.e., letting it revert to wireless?

Thanks for the help - the issue ultimately seems to be the backhaul connection between the RBR and the RBS. Removing the wired backhaul seems to have resolved the issue, no issues since leveraging the wireless backhaul. To your point the 10G connection must be more sensitive since this is the same backhaul that was used on my previous RBK852.
