Orbi 970 Ethernet Backhaul question and unmanaged switch

1. I can hardline backhaul one of the sattelites to my router but the second sattelite can not be. WIll this affect anything and will the wirted backhaul actually help?

2. How is running an unmanaged switch off a sattelite?

Thanks

  • Thanks for the reply Crimpon, aftere hooking up the 970R and 970S my wireless speeds are BLAZING. Previously on my Orbi AX6000 i was getting 400 maybe down and now I am gettign 1400 down. I might try the wired backhaul and see if it makes a difference but like you said I doubt I would notice. I am pleasantly surprised with the 970! I do have one sattelite left thinking of making an enclosure and chuck it in the garage for max coverage...............

    1. Yes. Hard wiring one of the satellites should work fine, and also should make a small improvement in performance. (Whether it will be detectable to the average user is not certain.)
    2. Yes unmanaged switches can be connected to both the router and satellites.
