It is often helpful to validate assumptions. Speed definitely is affected by distance from the WiFi access point and building construction in the path. There can be multiple explanations depending on exactly what is going on.
- If the WiFi device remains connected to the satellite rather than switching to the router, then the speed drop is understandable and the question to solve is, "why did the device not switch?"
- If the WiFi device has actually switched from satellite to the router, that leads to a totally different question to solve.
Bearing in mind that the Orbi Attached Devices (or Device Manager) display does not update instantly. (Something I find annoying) It would be helpful to know which condition can be verified. Did it switch? Or, did it not switch?
