Thanks FURRYe38 for your rapid response.
Just so I understand;
(1) I will only need 1 switch and you suggest connecting it behind the RBR via the 10Gbps port?
(2) Having the RBS connected to the same switch as other ethernet devices will *not* impact the stability of the RBS
Thanks for the switch suggestions, much appreciated!

Correct. I actually have two connected behind my RBR. One is a 1Gb 24 port for the main house network. The other is connected behind the RBR for the RBS ethernet connections and also support my DISH satellite TV service devices.

After a follow-up discussion with another avid forum participant via the private messaging system, I thought it prudent to post my final decision here and of course will report back once I have the system setup.
I have decided to purchase 2 separate switches; 1 x 10Gbps exclusively for the satellite backhaul connection and 1 x 2.5Gbps for the rest of the ethernet devices. Given Netgear have gone to the trouble of splitting out the hardware functionality on the back of the RBR it seems careless to muddy the connections and use the same switch. It would be extremely helpful if Netgear could address this themselves explicitly in their documentation.
Thanks again for all the help and advice.
