What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

What iOS version are you using?
Interesting find. Will try this though I've not had any issues with my iPhone not connecting to my 970 series. iOS 16.5.1 however recently updated to 17.5.1.

I just saw the thread. I too have seen iPhone and iPad flipping to 5G for no good reason, even where there is a strong WiFi signal. Sometimes it takes a restart to clear things up, or turning WiFi off and on. I turned WiFi assist off on both devices, I'll see how things look and report back!

What’s interesting is if you go to settings, your WIFI main SSID will still be populated behind the “WIFI” line (normally not populated if you are in pure cellular mode) while you sit and look up in the right corner of your iPhone and see a 5G with signal strength icon! I too have had trouble getting it back into WIFI, even standing as close as 8’ from the router. What I’ve done lately (instead of walking to the router), try going into iPhone settings where it shows your main SSID (even though it’s using 5G) and select the IoT SSID. My phone will connect to it and drop 5G, and then I change my WIFI selection back to the main SSID and it connects correctly.

I have seen this also - settings says it's connected to the SSID of WiFi, but "5G" in the top right corner. Turning WiFi off/on often fixes it. I have WiFi Assist off now, let's see how that works!
