RBE 972 - QoS or SQM
I'm experiencing bufferbloat on my RBE 972S and trying to locate the QoS or SQM settings in the router. Does anyone have any insights on this? I'm using the latest firmware on both the router and satellite. My Comcast connection is 1200Mbps down and 40Mbps up, with the modem set to bridge mode. I have 105 devices connected, and the channels are 1 and 40. I'm noticing poor latency when testing for bufferbloat over WiFi connected to either the router or satellite.

Alas, the User Manual for this Orbi
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBE973S/RBE971_RBE970_UM.pdf does not contain the terms QOS or SQM. This is probably an indication that the user has no mechanism to make any setting in that area.
- McLongLuminaryThanks for the response. I'm puzzled as to why they would remove this feature since it helps minimize latency.
If anyone has more information about this, please let me know. QoS has always been a staple in Netgear routers.

I have had an Orbi since 2016, and it has never had a method for users to manipulate QoS or SQM settings. The Orbi 'app', for example, which is practically forced on customers when installing a new system, and which replaced remote access to the web interface, provides zero access to any of the Advanced features.
What sort of WiFi devices exhibit bufferbloat? (Hosting internet gaming?)
Cable internet typically has highly asymmetrical data rates (1,200 down and 40 up)
I believe the QoS is all automatic now days for NG newer generation Orbi and Nighhawk routers.
Make sure the ISP signal up to the ISP modem is of good quality and condition first. Check with the Modems Mfr for any specs and troubleshooting signal quality issues up to the modem.
Be sure your using good quality LAN cable in between the modem and RBR. CAT6A STP is what I use and recommend.
