RBE771 slow download fast upload
I've just upgraded from a 2019 Orbi to the WiFi 7 Orbi 773. I'm on Ziply fiber, with 1GB each direction. The net connection comes into a pfSense router, which is connected to a switch. The Orbi is co...

Is the LT wireless or ethernet connected to the RBR?
How are you speed testing? Web browser with a speed test site or Ooklas installable speed test app. I recommend the speed test app as browser can give false results.
What is the brand and model# of this LT and it's wifi and ethernet chip set mfr brand and model?
Have you ethernet speed tested with the LT directly connected to the ONT?

I'm assuming LT is laptop; if I'm wrong, this reply won't make any sense.

I've tried it both ways, with similar results: Upload is always 3x to 5x faster than download.

I'm using the app, not the web site.

I have tested with my MacBook Air M4, MacStudio M2 Ultra, and iPad Air M2. These all support the 6GHz channel on WiFi 6E, but not WiFi 7. My iPhone 16 has WiFi 7 support, and I've tested using it as well. The results are the same: Upload speeds that are 3x to 5x faster than download speeds.
Have you ethernet speed tested with the LT directly connected to the ONT?
Yes, at least "directly" in the sense of laptop > switch > pfSense > ONT. In that case, I get the expected results: Upload and download speeds about equal, and in the 900mpbs+ range.
The more I test, the more this looks like a bug in the Orbi's code: It's occurring in both router and access point mode, it occurs with or without the pfSense in the loop, and it occurs on a multitude of devices. I just can't think of any other way to explain it.

Ok, have you tried the following, factory reset the ONT and RBR with the RBR directly connected to the ONT and then walk thru the setup wizard with a ethernet connected PC to set up the RBR, then run a speed test?
If this still fails, I'll recommend you make contact with NG support about this...Maybe some interoperability problem with speed handling on the RBR.

I fired up my Windows PC, which I don't use very often but it does have a WiFi 6E card in it ... it speed tests perfectly on the Orbi's wireless—900+Mbps up and down.
I have a buddy with a non-Orbi mesh router, but he's also on Ziply fiber and uses Macs, and he does not have this issue. Guess I'll have to try talking to Netgear on Monday.
