RBE771/770 Firmware 10.5.13.1 is Available!
Hello Orbi Community,
Firmware version 10.5.13.1 is now available for installation. Manual update will be required for the devices that do not have the firmware available as an automatic update...

I do not agree that this release fixes all the issues, I am experiencing random drops, loss to internet, random disconnects, network instability, my RBR850 never had the issues I am experiencing with this much more expensive RBR771.

What random drops are you experiencing?
Where are you experiencting these drops at? RBR, RBS? Connected devices?
What devices do you have connected?
What region are you located?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router?
Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellite(s) been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Thank you for all the helpful tips, I have a current case with NetGear and are working with their engineers on fixing the issues, currently running Debugs logs for them. The last time I ran the debug it was for 3 laptops, 1 hard wired PC, a surface pro 7 and steamdeck both wired and wireless for that one. I have wired 2.5gb, WiFi 7 WiFi 6e Wifi 6 so a wide range of different devices and connections to test and run speed tests for them.

What random drops are you experiencing? Random drops from Satellites and Router to the Modem, It would seem that the signal just drops and the connection to either is lost. Samsung Tab S6, Lenovo WiFi 6e Laptop, MSI Wifi 7 Laptop, MSI WiFi 6 Laptop. A pop-up shows up and says internet connection has been lost, then 2 seconds later it is restored. There are significant lag times for pages to load. Even loading SpeedTest dot net, with a 2.5gb up and 2.5gb down, connected to the RBR850 it would load super quick, however with the 771 load times can take up to 20 seconds.
Where are you experiencting these drops at? RBR, RBS? Connected devices? Both, even connected with the ethernet cat6 cable the drops are still happening. What devices do you have connected? I have SSID for the main attached devices, IoT set to only 2.5ghz for the Cameras. I have a guest network setup for random devices.
What region are you located? NA
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended. Yes Cat 6How many RBS are deployed? 2, at times I try just one, but my Ring doorbell WiFi strength drops considerably. Also the other cameras also drop
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft? about 1400sq, however it is very strange how it works. I have the Router and Fiber modem upstairs in the computer room, I have 1 of each Satellites located 1st floor at each end of the house. One is in the entryway, another at the backdoor.

https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF? I have not tried that. I am thinking about turning off WiFi 7 and seeing if there is an improvement.
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices? Yes with both. Different locations in the house, not the same area.
What channel configurations are currently set on the router? AutoBe sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence: I have done this. I have also tried turning off IoT for about 30 minutes so the attached devices are no longer connected, rebooted the modem, rebooted the router.

One is in the entryway, another at the backdoor. For that size of home the RBR and just one RBS would be needed. I'd turn OFF one RBS and leave one RBS running at 30 feet distance from the RBR. I'd even try just the RBR alone as a test.

- AkWingnutDec 06, 2024TutorAttached is an image from outside, it's not the best. However the circles on the bottom are the two Satellites the Router at the top. There are walls, doors, and floors in between each. Off photo to the left at the end of my yard after two cameras connected via 2.5ghz today total lot size is less than the allowed SF of the system
