V9.12.5.3_1.3.24 Auto installed on my Dual 970 system and noticed a bizzarro URL loading bug when trying to load Microsoft Teams Chat... I've duplicated this on 2 different PC's (1 Linux, 1 Windows).
The only difference I can see on the netgear Wifi side is Guest network only has WPA2-PSK checked where the regular Wireless network has WPA2-PSK + WPA3-Personal checked.
Took me a good hour to narrow this down to the Orbi itself. I'm using Netgears Guest Wifi as a work around for now.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What DNS is the RBR using? ISP detected DNS or custom DNS?
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, IPv6, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellites been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network. This is a first...WPA2 only can't be set on BE systems due to 6Ghz requirements.

POWER:
- Power cycled the home (Main power)
- Fiber node, Orbi, PC, Laptop(had to do that manual), and even my Phone- Still can not load teams on main wifi, or ether, only guest network.
ONT:
- running on a Frontier Fiber node. Not sure on it's model number. I need power tools to open the pedestal where the router it đ
DNS: (Resolution to IP is the same all solutions below, as is my ability to ping gov.teams.microsoft.us and telnet to it via tcp/443.
- I tried Using 8.8.8.8- I tried Using 8.8.4.4
- I tried Using 192.168.0.53 (A private dns server )
- Ultimately I switched back to ISP Provided
CACHE/data
- I used Different browsers (FF, CH, BRAVE, Incognito)
They only load the page on GUEST
WPA2:
- Ya, I didnt think that would be the cuase but it was a diff so had to mention.
SUMMARY:
I think the only thing left is to factory reset the Orbi, see if it works, and then slowly start putting DHCP/Network back together again...
Thanks guys!- FURRYe38Apr 17, 2025Guru - Experienced User
Try ISP detected DNS then try Cloudfare or Quad9 DNS.
Connect one of your wired PCs to the Fiber box to check for this issue as well.
Hoping FR will help as well:

It would take just a few minutes to change the security on the primary WiFi network to WPA2-PSK and see if that makes a difference.

I have a 970/971 Orbi system, and I tried both sites:
- https://teams.microsoft.comwith no trouble - could not log into the gov site as I don't have an account there, but the login screen came up. I tried Safari/Mac, Firefox/Mac, and Edge/Windows 11.
Something else must be going on - security as CrimpOn suggested maybe. But to me, this sounds like the PC canât resolve the domain to its IP address. Some things to try:
1. Flush the DNS cache: ipconfig /flushdns
2. Try another DNS temporarily, like Google 8.8.8.8 or Cloudfare 1.1.1.1
3. I assume you have tried mutllple browsers since you tried on Linux and Windows...
4. Try disabling your firewall and anti-virus one at a time to test this. (Windows Defender Firewall > Allow an app through firewall if you are using that)
5. Do you use a VPN? Try disabling it for a test
6. Is the Hosts file ok? Open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts in Notepad (as admin) and ensure thereâs no line like: 127.0.0.1 teams.microsoft.com
7. Can you try accessing the internet from a mobile hotspot to see if your ISP is blocking the site?UPDATE: I am using WPA2-PSK + WPA3-Personal on my main network, so maybe that's not a problem...

Can't set WPA2 only on BE systems.
