RBE970 Orbi 970 stops Broadcastin WLAN SSIDS
My Orbi 970 Stops broadcasting the WLAN SSIDs sometimes (about once a day) and all devices lose contact. I have to reboot the router. Opened a Netgear Case. But so far they only told me to factory r...

It may be time to RMA the system and request an extension on Netgear's 90 days of 'complimentary support'. (Switzerland may have regulations which affect that.)
We suggest trying the fan because it appears there may be manufacturing issues which result in overheating and it would be convenient to document whether this issue seems to be related to overheating (or not). A system that totally ceases broadcasting WiFi indicates a total failure of some key component that may have no 'cure' except replacement.

Thanks thats what i Think to, i never had a behaviour like this.
To me it looks like a devectice Device.
But what about the other Problem. The one with LAN Connected devices that do not get Upload Speed?
This problem is compleatly separated from the WLAN ISUE. (Still dont understand why the Threads where merged)
As Soon as The Orbi is Connected to the FTTH PPPoE Environement all devices that are conected by Wire (LAN) have no more (extreamly slow) Upload while Download is perfect.
To explain again i have two Providers:
a cable modem on that infrastructure i get download and upload OK
Fiber Modem ..FTTH PPPoE and i get very bad upload (only wired ..wlan is ok) Speedtest onm Router is 4GPPS Up and 4GBPS down.
Why i know its not the Provider.. because Everything on the now Provider works well with another router. And because i found a 7 month old redit Thread that describet exacrly the same... in the exaclty same environement. FTTH PPPoE i linked the Tread above.
This looks like a software/Firmware Issue. And should be quite Easy to Test for Netgear.

Have no experience with PPPoE systems. One suspicion is that the fiber ISP offers vastly more upload speed than systems have ever had before. (My cable upload is 12Mbps. WiFi devices are hard pressed to generate even a fraction of 4Gbps upload.
There seems to be ample evidence that "something is wrong" with the 971 router. Perhaps it affects both the WiFi signal and the upload speed?

What happens if you put the RBR behind the cable modem instead of the Fiber ONT?

When i put the Orbi behind the Cable Modem i have the normal Speed on my wired connections
But i know its not a provider issue because if i put another router behind my Fiber provider i get all speeds correct.
So it is defnetley a combination of the Orbi970 and a Synchrron FTTH PPPoE Setup.- CrimpOnMay 22, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Reading through the posts, I do not seem to find information about the cable system. What download/upload speeds does it provide? And, what speed does the Ethernet port on the old router support?
There have been several posts on the forum describing issues with multi-gig ports on Orbi systems, which appear to boil down to interoperability problems between different multi-gig Ethernet chips.
Thus, I would expect the Orbi 971 web interface, Advanced Tab, Show Statistics panel to describe the Orbi WAN port as being connected at 5000M/Full Duplex.
