RBE971 + 2 RBE970 Satellites Wireless Backhaul Topology
I upgraded from Orbi Mesh Wifi 6 platform (1 Router + 2 Satellites), to this new Wifi 7 platform (same 1 Router + 2 Satellites) setup. With my previous wifi 6 mesh system the “algorithm” decided th...

Would need a diagram from top down and mark where the RBR and RBS are placed.
WIth concrete material in the mix, this would be a factor in how the system is detect and connecting to the RBS.
If you turn OFF RBS A and B, then turn on RBS A first and let it sync, after it's connected, turn ON RBS B, see if this might get RBS B to connect to RBS A. MIght mode RBS B a bit closer to RBS B maybe.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
How are the satellites placed in the home? Got a diagram?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR📡 and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Depending on placement, distance and how the RBS are powered on will give direction to the system using Star for Daisy Chain configuration.

Previous Wifi 6 i’m guessing wasnt powerful enough so satellite B preferred Daisy chain but on this new platform seems to prefer to link directly to the main router. Since Netgear does all behind the scenes and doesnt reveal much to the end user cant really tell if this is the optimal topology indeed or the algorithm might needs some more optimizations.
I know this is a new platform and is not mature enough as Wifi6, that’s why i opened this discussion.- FURRYe38Dec 03, 2023Guru - Experienced User

Thanks again for the suggestion, i tried moving the Satellite B closer to Satellite A, power cycled it and when they synced up it changed to Daisy Chain topology. I'm getting now way better speeds than my previous Wifi 6 wireless backhaul.
