Re: RBE971 reboots
I also have random reboots on 972, every 2-3 days. RBR971 is connected in AP mode to French provider Orange modem/router. 972 replaced 752 who never had same reboot issue during 2-3 years. Since I cha...

Does the front LED on the RBR turn PINK or blink WHITE when this happens?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
How is the RBR configured for AP mode? Dynamic or Static IP address configuration?
I presume the connection between the ISP router to the RBRs Yellow Internet port while in AP mode?
Is Guest Network enabled on the RBR?
Does the WAN status seen on the Show Stats button for Uptime show same value as the RBRs IP address/debug.htm web page for system uptime as well or do they differ?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

- FW of both Orbi 971R and 970S is the lates PRD releas 9.12.5.3
- The LAN topology is +/- 40 devices with +/- 10 on 2.4 GHz, +/-25 on 5 GHz and on 3-4 on 6 GHz .(i.e. iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2-3 PCs)
- Guest Network Enabled or Disabled : Both cases tested and random reboots occurs on both
- IoT network is disabled

- IP randomizers of ALL connected devices are disabled.

Is the static IP address Set on the RBR for AP mode? What is the IP address subnet used on the Livebox 7? Does it use 192.168.1.1? And what is the Default IP address pool size of the Livebox 7? 192.168.1.2 thru .254?
==> Static IP is configured only in the Orange Livebox's DHCP config.
MAC of RBR leased to 192.168.1.2 and MAC of RBS leased to 192.168.1.3
DHCP pool of router Livebox is from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.253
How is the RBS ethernet connected to the RBR? Directly behind the RBR or is there a LAN switch in between?
==> RBS is not ethernet/cable connected. It is wireless backhaul between RBR and RBS. There is NOT any LAN switch at home. Orange LiveBox has 5 LAN port where only 1 is 10 GBit. This port connected to RBR. All devices at home are through WiFi. Ethermnet ports of Livebox + RBR + RBS are NOT used.
Does this still happen with the RBS turned OFF?
==> Never tried with RBR only mode. I need to use RBS to connect PCs at my home office room which is in the same room with RBS. Without RBS, the WiFi coverage is very low./quite unusable.
Below the basic logs, mostly disabled

Please change the DHCP pool on the Livebox to .100 to .250. Then set a static IP address configuration on the RBR in AP mode for 192.168.1.97

OK.

Test would be to only check to see RBR continues to reboot if RBS were turned off. Maybe try this near the time you think the RBR reboots.

That shows someting on the host router that is not getting to the RBR. RBR log shows internet is been disconnected. Something to check on the ISP router.
Someting else to try as well, try the RBR in router mode and use the ISP Routers DMZ for the IP address the RBR gets from the ISP Router while in router mode. See if RBR continues to reboot.

==> Similar approach has already been tested. DHCP pool has been changed to .10 to 1.200. RBR has static IP .2 and RBS .3, so outside of DHCP dynamic assignment range. Since last reboot thisi is the current config. DHCP range is from .10 to .200; but RBR rebooted again early this morning. .

==> I don't agree with that. The error "Internet disconnected" happens after RBR crash/restart and during the reboot. In the reboot process it says first "no internet" with the timestamp 2024 Nov 21, then it connects to the ISP router (internet connected) it syncro the time with NTP server and all logs are accurate. So this "internet disconnected" message is expected behaviour during the RBR restart.

==> This is not a usable workaround in my topology. Orange France force to use its own router Livebox to allow IPTV via its decoder Orange TV. If the IPTV decoder is not connected to Livebox, no tv at all.. I can't have 2 WiFi network with same SSID and 2 different DHCP servers / IP ranges.
==> Again as I said intially, before 972 I had 752 who was working without any issue since 2--3 years in AP mode with similar topology. Since I moved to 972, those random restarts happens and unfortunately as I have seen in the forum I'm not the only one. Or my 972 has a HW issue, or SW/FW. I saw that some people had new devices after RMAs, but I'm not sure if their problem is resolved after RMA....
