Replacing Quickline FWA router (Zyxel EX3301-T0) with Orbi R970
Hi all, I've just had Quickline FWA installed at my house (UK), they use their own 5G network. They installed the following: Zyxel NR7101 installed outside Zyxel EX3301-T0 router inside POE...
I would start with page 107 of the User Guide to this outdoor 5G router:

good shout. do you think its something on their outdoor unit that needs to be changed?
My first guess is that the Orbi router should be a direct swap for their WiFi router. Move the Ethernet cable to the Orbi.
Reboot the external unit.
Power up the Orbi.
Connect to Orbi to begin configuration.
Might correspond with that "ant person" to see if there were any specific steps.
This will most likely result in a typical "Double Router" situation which can interfere with specific internet applications. (internet search for details). If this is a concern for your situation, then the IP Passthrough option on the external router appears to be the way to deal with that. (page 81 of the User Guide).
Ok for the time being. I've managed to put the orbi on the DMZ of the ISP's router. thank you for the suggestion.
I don't think I can access the outside router so I probably can't make any changes to that anyway (don't know the login details)
I'll keep on at the ISP though to try to get the setup cleaner and not have 2/3 routers 🙂
