Second set of RBE971 routers - cannot get them connected

I'm now on my second set of the new RB970 routers.  I cannot get the satellites to remain stable.  I did initial set up of both satellites to wifi, seemed to be ok.  Then moved the satellites to permanent location, plugged in the ethernet cables and now cannot get them to synch.  System continues to go offline.   Any suggestions/ideas welcome.  I can re-do the satellite set up again starting with ethernet synch if that would make a difference.  Right now the one satellite keeps cycling between blue and purple light but never shows up as connected on my network or in Orbi app.  The other wifi satellite comes and goes as connected at same time.  For $3000 this should be a lot easier!
