I purchased the Orbi 770 to extend my comcast wifi which uses an Arris G54 modem/router. Netgear pre-sales chat assured me this would work but said it would require I connect the Orbi via ethernet wh...
thats the issue. They led you wrong. The orbi needs an orbi router to manage it. You can't just have a satellite.
its because you're in a double nat.
both are routers.
The G54 is pretty solid.
What i'd do?
go g54-----router mode----->Orbi with the orbi in access point mode.
to access it. Disconnect if from the G54. then reboot it and connect a pc/laptop/phone to the orbi (with it disconnected from the g54).
Navigate in the browser to its login/setup page. once setup, go advanced---->advanced---->router/access point setup.
Choose access point. Once it reboots, then connect it back to the g54
