3 of the 4 RJ45 ports non functional ?

HI !.. i have a RAX70.. Brand new ( to me at least ) .. been fully functional for 3 full days at least haha.

Upgraded the Firmware to 1.0.19.172

Just woke up today and 3 of the 4 ports' Lights on the router were not On.

Just one was functional for some reason.

Swapped cables on non working.. didnt help.

Power cycled router and reseated cables that seemed to work .

This a Common Issue ?.. hope this isnt an every day thing.. thanks much !

  • Howdy - thanks for the help .

So this morning i had 3 of the 4 ports on the router plugged in w/ a device /cable.

Those same devices the Light on the router was not On for those ports. - they were previously.

    Devices were:

    Apple TV 4k streaming device.

Zima Board w/ Debian and Pi-Hole on it.

Both the Apple TV 4k and the Zima Board Have been working fine.

As of right now the 50 Foot cable on the Apple TV is suspect bad.

I used the same cable on the pihole and no link light.

Swapped cable and is fine now.

The power cycle and reseating of the cables at the Router appeared to help.

Just WAY concerning that 2 ports that were live last night.. went out this morning.. and a reboot brought them back to life.

How could one bad cable take out 2 ports ?

I hope this isnt how this rather new ( to me ) router is going to behave :p .

    thanks .

Recommend using CAT6 UTP LAN cabling.

Sounds like bad cabling. I would get new cabling. Good places to get cabling would be from monoprice or deepsurplus.

What device is connected to the port that is not working?

    Which #port is not working?
