A question about the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 6E Router (RAXE300) | AXE7800, running WIFI PCVR.
Hi. I wonder if anyone can help please. I am looking at the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 6E Router (RAXE300) | AXE7800. Amazon link. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B431KCRW/ref=ox_sc_saved_im...
- Oct 22, 2023Thank you both for the replies.Yes I have done just waht you both said, joined a VR forum, and having feedback. It woud seem that as the Nighthawk is a 6E 6Ghz router, it would work, not only well, But somewhat of an overkillfor what I need it for,Seeing as its only purpose will be to streem from PC to HMD.As wasy cheaper options can be used. But I do like the look of it. 🙂So may end up going for it anyway. But I thank you both for the help.

Something you'll need to try and see if it works for you. Various and many different systems out there and different user environments to be able to give something specific.
Wired connections will always out perform wireless.

Hi FURRYe38.
And thank you for the reply.
Unfortunately, in this case on this headset, there is no DP, or HDMI port, only a USBc which bottle necks the signal when hardwired.
Whereas a 6Ghz router, plugged into the PC,-- (motherboard, not the wifi hub.) --gives a faster lower latency experience.
I just wondered if this particular router, had been used by a VR user, in this way, could give feedback to the results.
I asked this question on Amazon, and NetGear replied ,saying "it was a fast router, but to ask on here."
So I made an account to ask.
I really appreciate the help.
And know its a specific question geared towards VR. And not WIFI coverage, or other rooms / walls, multiple users etc.
As all of the equipment would be specifically used by me. In the same room, with the PC / Router plugged into the RJ45 of the motherboard, and the VR headset.
Even the Virgin wireless hub sending the broadband signnal to the Pc, at around 950mbps, is in ythe same room about 20 feet away.
I hope someone who has used this setup, and VR can answer the question. But again I really appreciate the reply.- FURRYe38Oct 20, 2023Guru - Experienced User
Something you might ask in VR forums and see what others that use that platform have to say. Not sure if this forum will result in any responses as this forum is for mostly help and troubleshooting router problems.
Good Luck.
