Alternative firmware upgrade
Has there been any other firmware releases for the AX#/RAX# yet? Netgear’s native firmware hasn’t changed or worked properly for 20 years now. Considering that they have the vulnerable firmware on the website for download, nefarious characters are able to get it and alter it, with no authentication; install it on our pricey shiny new net gear- via numerous methods and add themselves (or anyone) or everyone to the ssh configuration file -
Im sure NG has taken measures to block the uploading of any wrt flavors; which if configured properly, are inherently more secure and transparent to the admin. On my Rax30 behind a good firewall, telnet port, ssh and 9 others are open yet i am unable to access any of them. Guess I will have to hack the thing myself just to access the filesystem on the machine that I bought…

Something to check out on other 3rd party Web sites if your looking for 3rd party FW. They will know what they support on there platforms. It's up to them to choose to support NG HW on there platform.
