Apple Devices Blocked

this has happened to me ever since I have owned this router.  The MAC filtering/advanced security panel has NEVER worked properly.   My work around: 

disable mac filtering.  Add device MAC address as allowed to list, then re-enable mac filtering to blocking all new. 

I have tried the edit>allow and I've alos tried the allow and neither have ever worked for me.   If the device is not on my pre-approved list, I have no way to switch it from blocked to approve.  I have to add MAC before it is blocked.

its a huge hassle and bug and I reported it to Netgear and they were no help. They had me go thru all the normal, reset router,  reset all settings to default,  a huge pain and no solution.  I have the latest firmware and always keep it updated.
