ASUS Zenpad 8.0 refuses to connect to RAX15

I replaced an old Linksys with a RAX15. I kept the same SSID and password. Every device in the house connected to the new router without issue except an Asus Zenpad 8.0 (Z580CA) with WLAN802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. It picks up the SSID with excellent signal strength but everytime I try to connect it saves the network but comes up disconnected. I tried cycling the modem / router and reconnecting. I forgot the old network on the Zenpad. I tried connecting again. I retarted and tried adding the new network manually. I tried WPS push button and WPS pin. Some advice was to reset the network settings on the Zenpad. There is no option to do this on this model/GUI other than to forget the network in the wifi network listing. I toggled on/off smart connect. Other advice was to make sure the 2.4 channel wasn't higher than 1-11; it's on auto, but it doesn't go higher than 11 anyway. I don't think any of my other devices are 5G capable (I future-proofed), so I may try just turning off the 5G band. May also try a factory reset on the Zenpad. Other than that, I'm at my wits end. Any ideas would be appreciated.

To me this says that the problem is with your Zenpad.

    Tried that again?

This WiFi 6 (AX) stuff is new. Old kit may not be happy. Tried disabling AX WiFi?

Thanks for the reply! It could be the Zenpad, although I've never had an issue with it connecting to any other network: friends, hotels, airports, etc. It's been around the world. I tried disabling AX; unfortunately, that didn't do the trick. It's a real mystery that at this point but bugs me enough that I don't think I can let it go.
