Attached Devices Priority Settings
Router
RAX48
Latest Firmware:
Version V1.0.16.132_2.0.92
I've got QOS turned on, and the Attached Devices list shows my devices correctly. I see the Priority setting, and I can change it and then apply the changes. However, when I go back to the list of Attached Devices the change I made does not seem to have been saved. I've tried different browsers, cleared my browser caches, rebooted the router, and even turned it off and on; all to no avail. I've even gone as far as reloading an older version of firmware--still nothing.
I thought the Priority setting would allow me to specify a QOS level for a device. Am I wrong? If so, what does the Priority setting do?
Since I've enabled QOS and have the latest (albeit old) Performance Optimization Database, does that make the the Priority setting moot? Is QOS automatically handled by the information stored in the database? If so, why even show a Priority setting?
Thanks for any guidance. I'm confused.

It seems like you're experiencing difficulties with configuring Quality of Service (QoS) settings on your RAX48 router. Here's some clarification:
Priority Setting: The Priority setting in your router allows you to adjust the QoS priority for individual devices on your network. By assigning a priority level to a device, you can control its access to network resources and ensure that critical applications or devices receive preferential treatment in terms of bandwidth allocation.
Saving Changes: If changes to the Priority setting are not being saved, despite applying them and rebooting the router, there may be a firmware issue or a configuration issue with the router's settings. Ensure that you're following the correct steps for configuring QoS settings in your router's user interface and check for any firmware updates or patches that may address this issue.
Automatic QoS Handling: While the Performance Optimization Database may provide some automatic QoS handling based on device usage patterns, the Priority setting allows for manual customization and fine-tuning of QoS priorities for specific devices. It provides users with more control over how network resources are allocated and ensures that critical devices or applications receive adequate bandwidth when needed.
Troubleshooting: If you're still experiencing issues with saving QoS settings or if the Priority setting doesn't seem to have any effect, consider reaching out to Net gear's customer support for assistance. They can provide further guidance and troubleshooting steps specific to your router model and firmware version.
Overall, the Priority setting in your router's QoS configuration allows for manual prioritization of network traffic, complementing any automatic QoS handling provided by the router's firmware. If changes to the Priority setting are not being saved, further investigation and troubleshooting may be necessary to resolve the issue.
