AX 4200 - Modem Setup
This is actually a RBK754 but that wasn't in the options list.
A customer purchased the Orbi RBK754 and today we set it up in his home.
The question: in watching the many videos on setting up the Orbi router with the app I've seen that none of the videos go through the step of turning bridging on on the cable modem. Is it just taken for granted that people know this? Or is it not needed?
Thanks.
Darryl
It isn't going to be gone over because every provider gives a different modem/device. So its tough to have instructions for other providers devices.
And a lot of devices don't have issues when you just direct connect the orbi to it. but some do.
And thats why there's the articles on double nat (cascading mulitple routers)

What modem/gateway do you have?
(and you might get better luck on the orbi AX devices in their forum)

The modem/router is provided by the cable company (Xfinity). I know how to get into the modem and change bridging. Just questioning why it isn't mentioned. Even in the Orbi setup tutorial it dosn't mention this step.
