AX80 will not work on Frontier fiber
Oh boy, this is difficult. I'm trying to replace the Frontier router with this AX80 router. First of all, the Nighthawk app does not work properly. Never has. Doensn't work when I want to change the password on a Nighthawk extender I bought, and it's not working now.
Now since after an hour of trying it still doesn't work, it is saying that it still has its default router name "NETGEAR42" but it's also broadcasting a name that I gave it. It's extremely confusing.
Add to this the fact that I don't know which network port on the white fiber box to plug the LAN cable into. One is marked LAN, the other is marked 10GE which I guess is 10 Gigabit Ethernet if I had to guess. Not sure which one to plug into.
I first went through the process with it plugged into LAN. Ran into a wall at the end and it gave me the "Can't find router" nonsense even though my phone was 3 inches from the #$#&#%@ router.
Tried it again with the cable plugged into the 10GE port and I can't get started again because of the naming confusion.
Has anyoine successfully set this fantastic item up with a Frontier fiber optic white box?
