Can NetGear Mesh Extenders act as nodes to NetGear Router?
Hey guys, as title says. I couldn’t find a similar posting while searching the forum, so if this is a repeat question my apologies.
I recently purchased a NetGear Nighthawk AX11000 RAX200 wifi router through Amazon Canada (it was supposed to ship today but at this rate who knows when I’ll get it). My question is. Can certain NetGear mesh router extenders act as wifi nodes to my nighthawk router? Or would they create a new network and I’m forced to buy an actual dedicated mesh system from NetGear?

Are you wanting them hardwired in or wireless?
there are wireless mesh extenders and I've used a couple with my RAX200.
But if you hardwire in the extender and run them in access point mode, they're a seperate network.
You can use the same ssid but devices tend to be sticky versus a full mesh system they roam easier/faster.
