Cannot change channels at 2.4Ghz and at 5Ghz-1

Good Day from Canada,

Recently got RAX200. I cannot a change channel at 2.4GHz - always returns to "Auto" after "Apply". Also, 5GHz-1 stuck at the channel 44 is not changeable, even I have eight options (only). For 5GHz-2 FOUR(149, 153, 157, 161) opthions, but they are changable :)

  • what firmware are you on?

Is this a new issue or a new router?

If you set your speed from "up to 4800mbps" on the 5ghz down to "up to 2400mbps" are you able to change?

When using "up to 4800mbps" the router uses 160hz wide channels

New Router, I got it one week ago, purchased April 1. I bought it through the Best Buy is only one how was selling it in Canada (NETGEAR Nighthawk 12-Stream AX11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router (RAX200-100CNS)). I was worried about “-100CNS”, called to Netgear America. After checking… They said – no difference, same model, it indicates the storage of Canadian Warehouse (Now looks like not only).

Region frozen at “Canada”, I am not able to change region options :(

2400Mbps - No. I set even lower – same, stuck at channel 44. I played with another parameters – same, tryed choosing all different channels – No.

      For 5GHz-1 my channel options: 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 58, 60, 64.  Current channel is crowded, a lot of neighbours on it, I prefer 48. Channels 52 – 64 gives me notice massage of DFS, also – No.

Also, my 2.4G is on “auto” which keep changing channels – in most cases leaves me with a lot of neighbors, but I have channel #3 which is surprisingly empty.

When using "up to 4800mbps" the router uses 160hz wide channels

My first 5GHz-1 has options up to 4800Mbps,

But second 5Ghz-2 has options up to 2400Mbps maximum.

sadly in canada, channels 118-128 are reserved channels.

there's only enough bandwidth in the 5ghz band for 2x 160hz channels. And its channels. 36-64 and then 100-128

In canada, there's not enough channels for 2x 160hz wide spectrums. So you'll only get 1 full spectrum and the other in 80hz (up to 2400mbps)

It really wouldn't matter if you picked channel 36/44/64 as channel overlap causes all of them to be used in 160hz wide. Not sure why you can't change it if speeds are set down far enough.

Same with the 2.4ghz. Not sure why its switching to auto. Not sure if thats a canada specific thing or not as I'm not in that region.
