It's a Nighthawk AX6 AX5400 WiFi Router (RAX50v2). I've tried both the IP address and the login url. Both fail when I enter my username and password. I didn't want to do a factory reset and I've configured a couple of SSID's and had fun and games setting it up at the outset as it's a non-ISP provided router.

What connects your router to the Internet?
Many ISPs like to inflict their own choice of modem/router combinations on customers.
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local problems with addresses on your network. Among other things, the other router can misdirect traffic to addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual default IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.
What is Double NAT? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Unless you have specific reasons for using two routers – to create two separate networks for example – it is often easier to use just one router and then to set up the second router as a wifi access point (AP) with a wired connection to the main router. Netgear advises this, as does just about every site you will visit.
How do I change my NETGEAR router to AP mode? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
But that has its own drawbacks:

It may be possible to put the modem/router into modem only (bridge) mode and then to use the second device as the router.

Hi Michael,
The Nighthawk is a stand alone router configured in line with our ISP's settings and is working perfectly. The only issue I get is trying to log into the router, as I need to set up port forwarding for remote access to an application. When I try and access the router's interface I keep getting you need a NetGear account to login. I have an account, I'm logged into it now!! Yet it fails and says try again. OTP password doesn't work, nothing works. I organised a support tech and he managed to fudge it by repeatedly entering 192.168.1.1 despite being asked to enter the NetGear account details. It is extremely frustrating!!!

A router cannot connect to the Internet without plugging into something else. This is usually a modem, a gateway (modem/router) or an optical network termination (ONT). Sometimes people turn up here on "campus" sites where they can plug into the Internet via a switch buried somewhere in the basement.
The symptoms you describe are typical of a router that is connected to a modem/router. In that case, 192.168.1.1 won't work.
When I try and access the router's interface I keep getting you need a NetGear account to login. I have an account, I'm logged into it now!!Netgear has several "accounts". For example, the one you use for this place can have nothing to do with your MyNetgear account. So what do you see when you try to connect? A screenshot might help.
You have now told us what the problem is several times, but you have been asked question that have gone unanswered. Those questions are based on dealing with hundreds of similar queries here. Without answers there is not much more that anyone can do.
