Connecting to BT ONT.

I have trawled through here looking for an answer to my question but cannot find one so I am posting it hoping for an answer. I have seen similar questions for the Orbi but I could not see a definitive answer for that either.

I have recently had BT FTTP 900 installed and this comes with the smart Hub 2. My question is can I remove the smart hub 2 and connect my new nighthawk directly to the ONT?

  • This applies to FTTP BT ONT only:

Just plug your router WAN/Internet port into the ONT and configure it for PPPoE, enter the BT PPPoE details. These are generic - Username: homehub@btbroadband.com   Password: BT

DECT phones will no longer work unfortunately - the hub has a built in DECT base station.

If this has an impact on IPTV - no idea.
