The web site download page shows the current firmware version as 1.0.2.136. This morning I checked using the phone app, and it shows a version 1.2.0.16 available. Installed OK but want to verify th...

As been out for a week and as you don't know it will happen again your best bet is to update again, reset and monitor for another week.
as the process was easy for you to solve there is no harm trying again.

I tried to downgrade and upgrade to 1.2.0.16 several times and also pinhole reset. It still can’t work as normal as before, quite weird.

Netgear needs to flush this t*rd, pull it from distribution, and focus on the next version and an effective test plan for it as well. Wrong time to autobrick a bunch of essential work from home equipment, Netgear. Move it forward please.

You don't mention what firmware version you're having trouble with, nor what the troubles are that you are having. That would be helpful to know to see if I have any of those issues. I just got the RAX120 and am just learning of issues, but it's been difficult to tell exactly what the issues folks are seeing. This would help in the process of elimination of what the causes of "strange" events on my network are.
Thanks

New Firmware came out. Mine auto updated last night at 3AM. After update, all my wired connections stopped working. Wireless connections continued to work. Same issue as last firmware with VLAN Tagging and PPPoE. However, I tinkered around and created a new VLAN Tag group and enabled only the physical ports and same VLAN ID as previous. That did not work when I applied so I deleted the newly created VLAN Tag group and hit applied and all of a sudden all wired connections started working again. Hope this helps with anyone dealing with Centurylink, PPPoE and VLAN Tag requirements.

Update: I went through the update log again carefully and found that NETGEAR updated the interface of Traffic Meter. I tried to disable the Traffic Meter and clear the data usage history on my RAX120. Everything works perfect then. The main reason I guess should be Traffic Meter interface, the system could crash when accumulated data usage reaches a certain value, and that can explain why my RAX120 didn't get a malfunction until after a period of use.
