Why doesn’t NETGEAR routers save device (cell phones, pads, desktops) updates so they don’t have to be downloaded multiple times?

No storage space for one, and something that is device specific, not router specific. All that's up to the devices mfrs on how they handle updates. Something to discuss with them.
