Firmware Versions different on Nighthawk App and routerlogin URL
I'm a little confused on what I'm seeing regarding the firmware version numbers. My Nighthawk app prompted me earlier today to do a firmware update. I tried 2 or 3 times and kept getting a message that the update couldn't be performed. The version number that the Nighthawk app shows is 1.02.82. I then referred to the user manual and it mentioned going to URL NETGEAR Router RAX50 (routerlogin.net). I did that and worked my way to the page that shows the version. It is showing
Firmware Version | V1.0.5.106_2.0.70 |
which appears to be the most current version. After that I went back to the Nighthawk app and told it to check for updates. It told me no updates were available. I'm guessing my best course of action is to think the firmware is up to date even though there's conflicting information between the Nighthawk app and the URL..

You can manually update.
How do I manually update the firmware on my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
I'd highly recommend doing it over a hardwired connection and not via wireless or using the app

I have been to the URL that was accessed on a browser from a wired machine. I checked that URL to see if updates were needed and it told me that no updates were available. That leads me to believe that I don't need to update the firmware..
You can compare the released version to the version you're on.
