I disagree. Something in the router is triggering the unconfigured software in the iPad. the only change I made is the adding the RAX70. If I go to my girlfriend's house the warning does not popup.
The router is reaching out to the iPad.
Further and just like your link the 'home' app is removed from my iPad since it first became annoying years ago.

Hardware Version RAX70 Firmware Version V1.0.12.114

No, No and No.
The previous nighthawk rebooted for no reason. The internet port would not accept an address DHCP from Cox or by me putting the one I had for years in. I went out purchased the RAX70 at Microcenter plugged it in and went back to work. The first time after I put in my wifi password to the new router I began getting this annoying homekit message. The only way I can turn it off according to apple is remove the home app. I removed the home app a long time ago. I cannot locate it on my ipad.
The clear point is there must be some kind of "HOMELIKE" feature netgear included in the router for people who are into that kind of thing. I just want to know how to stop it.
By the way I went to my girlfriend's house and when I open the iPad, I do not get the homekit warning I am asking how to get the new router to not trigger.

Might ask a forum Moderator about this. I don't use HomeKit and I have not seen this with any NH router I have had todate. I don't believe there is any kind of HomeKit features on NG routers. Possible that something with in the FW or traffic flow could be blocking HomeKit services on this router thus why you might be getting a warning message. Seems to work at your friends place which I presume may not have a NG router or something different.
