HOW TO REACH 2GBS WITH RAX120??
Just upgraded to fiber optics. Decided to go with 2gb speed, ISP doesn't provide routers for this speed so I went on a search.
After the 3rd router, I thought I had found one that would allow me to run 2gbs. I was told the RAX120 would be compatible with this high of speed. However I have no idea how to tweak it to do more than 1gbs...
Without the router, I used an ethernet cable from my fiber optics "modem" direct to my computer; tests were showing 2gbs. Now using the router to connect via ethernet I am only show 1gbs. Should the multi gig port assist here?
I was checking out my router settings trying to do this on my own, but I'm not as knowledgeable as Id like to be and do not want to mess with unnecessary settings.

- microchip8MasterWhile the RAX120 has a multigig port, all other ports max out at 1 Gbps, so you won't see anything higher than that.

To get 2 Gb, or above, you need a router designed for that purpose. As microchip8 says, the RAX120 isn't one of them.
To see which Netgear devices can do that speed, plug your needs into this page:
