everything worked ok until i rebooted the router.
It might help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The make and model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Any chance that you could explain what the issue was an how you fixed it?
There are lots of Pi eaters here. I'm sure they would welcome your insights.

my problem was resolved with help from the developer of my pi unit. he had me use PUTTY program to access the SSH access portal and communicate directly with the PI unit.
then i logged into my pi unit, and simply rebooted my system thru SSH. apparently this auto reconfigured any software issues that may have occurred, whereas just rebooting PI by unhooking battery does not.cd genmon
./startgenmon.sh restart
this reset the 8000 port to communicate with my router.
its all smoke and mirrors to me

I like it.
Pis are wondrous devices. First dreamed up because IT education in the UK was hopeless – all Word and Excel – it has turned into a minor industry.
