       Ok.  What's stopping you?

_What_ "8 digit PIN"?  What, exactly, are you doing which requires a
    PIN?

Without knowing what you're talking about, it's tough to say.

Start again.  What, exactly, is your (unspecified) "my router"?  Has
it a maker and model number?  If it's a Netgear model, then visit
http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read?

I am so sorry, I wasn't at all clear. When I set up my nighthalwk rax10  6 router, it came with a piece of paper with a QR codefor  the app on my phone . Now I am not sure if there was also an 8 digit code number that I had to punch in during the installation of the router. my question is, if I reset to factory version, will i need this code number ( if there was one).  I have lost that piece of paper. I hope this is better. Marion

I've never touched an RAX10, so I know nothing, but I've never heard
        of such a code number.

Did you?  Did you find any reference to such a code number?

If you needed one before, then I'd guess that you might need it
again.  I doubt that you needed one before.

Note that a (misnamed) "Factory Reset" is a _settings_ reset.  It
        does not affect any "version".

Presumably, if you're still in your 90-day support period, then you
        could get help from Netgear:
