I had no internet connection to my tablet. These two sentences are confusing. If nothing happened, then all should be fine.
Or do you mean:
"I tested it by unplugging the computer and I had no internet connection to my tablet."
How does the tablet connect to the Internet?
Can it see the wifi from the router?

Yes.
The router will continue to broadcast wifi. You can also plug other things into its Ethernet ports.
Other then the wired connection, there is nothing else going on between the computer and the router. Test it by unplugging the computer and seeing what happens.

Hello,The router is connected to the modem. The ethernet connection
on the desktop computer is connected to the ethernet connection on the router.
If I disconnect the computer from the router,I lose the internet. If I turn on the computer
and leave the router shuy off the computer has no internet connection.
Sorry for the delay in responding.Thank you.- michaelkenwardFeb 23, 2020Guru - Experienced User
I remain puzzled about what is going on.

You lose the Internet to what? Everything?
The wifi should still work, as long as the wifi clients are connecting to the wifi from the router and not something on the PC.

Unless your computer is wired to something that turns off other things when it is disconnected.

Hello,If I pull the power cord to the computer I lose
the LAN port number three on the router and the tablet
says there is no internet connection..There are four ports on the router.
I use number three for internet connection.I now have to have the router on
so the computer can connect to the internet.- michaelkenwardFeb 23, 2020Guru - Experienced User

I use number three for internet connection.I'm completely lost here. Hard to see how a tablet depends on a wired connection to your router. Maybe there is some other hardware involved.

The router is the bit that glues everything together.
The modem is just the first link in the chain. The router handles all the network connections.

There has never been any suggestion that you wanted to turn off the router rather than the PC.
Like I said, I'm completely lost here. But that's not new. I am often lost.
