not much info on that modem. Does it have built in routing features?

Yes it does have router capabilities I believe, because it has wifi signal (weak) but it has.

  Try putting the RAX in access point mode.
  Or putting the RAX's IP address into the modem/gateways DMZ.

    I can not access the modem, cable company will not give access. Can you please explain how to put the router in access point?
