IOS App bricks Nighthawk RAX50 when upgrading firmware
I just bought a second hand RAX50 router. First time setup with IOS app. It asks me if I want to upgrade firmware. I answer yes since it is better to do this before all configuration is done.
It looks up during process. Left it on for 30 minutes, nothing happening. Mobile app saying firmware update failed. Restarts router. Then power start blinking white/red.
Hard factory reset does not work, TFTP does not work. Nmrpflash does not work.
Previous owner did not how receipt so pretty much out of look with my $200 brick.
Any suggestions?

Many things can go wrong with tftp as well as there's a short window in which to execute.
did you enable tftp:
make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash
https://github.com/jclehner/nmrpflash
Again, there's a short window when you're doing it

Thx! Your advice is good. I got it working now:smileyhappy: The general description on how to flash with TFTP does not say that it is a very short period that you can upload. Just mentioned flashing orange. On the RAX50 it goes from red to blinking red in about 15 seconds. The period it blinks is like 2 seconds. This is when you need to upload. It is to late when i blinks white.
Hopefully this helps other people who trying to upgrade factory reset router firmware from IOS app.
Glad you got it working! If you mark the answer solved, it might help the next person faster.
