IoT Devices go offline

Been experiencing my IoT devices (garage opener, weather station, cameras, etc.) go offline frequently.  I thought it was my second router's channel causing issues being too close, but that's not it.  I've disconnected my second router/AP and this issue persists.  Once I reboot the router, it's all good.  For a while.

What can I do to figure out this issue?

  • we could start with some actual details.

    1. Listing your setup.

    • router you have and firmware on it
    • Modem/gateway its connected to
    • the 2nd access point you have and firmware on it
    • How many IoT devices you have

    2. does it happen to all devices at once? Just the IoT devices? How frequently is it happening?

    3. are the IoT devices connected to the router or the 2nd access point?

    4. does changing the wifi channel fix the issue?

    5. Are the IoT devices on the 2.4ghz or 5ghz channel?

    6. If its 5ghz, what channel are you using?

      Hardware Version RAX20
      Firmware Version V1.0.11.112_2.0.77

      Modem is from Spectrum

2nd AP is disconnected as of yesterday and overnight IoT devices went offline

I have 5 cameras, one doorbell cam, one video garage keypad, 1 garage door opener.

All devices go off at once.

      All IoT are on 2.4Ghz

      No IoT on 5Ghz

      Thanks!

try switching the SSID's (names) so the IoT connect to the AP. see if they stay solid on the AP and not the router.
