Laptop does not detect new nighthawk router

I setup my new router and was able to connect all devices except 2 Lenovo laptops from my kids school. The router does not shows on list or available networks. I tried adding router manually, rebooting both router and laptop and still no luck. Please help. All out of ideas

  • What wireless chipset is in the laptop for wireless?

many of these had intel chips in them. the older drivers couldn't see/access AX networks. And most people rely on windows to push out new drivers from them. Which didn't happen. So check which wireless chip is in it and go to that manufacturers website to directly get the driver and update it.

Windows update rarely, of ever, finds updated drivers.

  • 1. Try resetting the network on the laptops.

    2.  Are you using Smart Connect?  If so, try without Smart Connect.

    3. Create different SSID's for each band. Make sure your WPA security matches with laptop

    4. Channel selection....play around with different channels .....
