Laptops cannot find wifi network with new AX1800 Wifi 6 router

Just purchased a new AX1800 WiFi 6 router (RAX10), installed it, and connected several devices (iPhones, Nest, etc.) with no problem. However, we have two HP computers that cannot find the wireless network at all (though we can see other neighbor's wireless networks). I read in another thread that I may need to disable the AX on the router, but I cannot figure out how to do so. Any recommendations?

  • You can disregard my question. I was able to figure out how to disable AX and this worked. My laptops were then able to see the WiFi network.

disabling ax fixes the issue but then ruins half the point of an AX router :)

What chipset is in the HP laptop?

      Is it an intel chipset?

If so, intel was horrible at updating their drivers to the HP site as well as windows. And their earlier drivers had issues with being able to see AX.

If its an intel chip, go to intels site and update the wireless driver from there.

If its not, find out what wireless chipset is in it and get the driver directly from that manufacturer.

then try re-enabling AX and seeing if it worked.
