Lightning strike rax80
My RAX80 is not working after lightning hit near the house and took out my modem as well. Amber lights stay lit but the power light stays off. No change after reset. Any hope or will I have to replace...

storms are great at wrecking electronics. You potentially try tftp but if the storm fried it, it probably won't work.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

I'd also check to see if its still under warranty. click on "mynetgear" at the top. register an account and then the device. From there you can check warranty status.

Thanks for your help, pretty sure it’s fried. It won’t recognize anything even wired directly. Out of warranty of course lol. I think I’m stuck with just replacing it. But thanks anyway, it’s good to know the tftp thing just in case.

Did you check the power adapter?
- RiverwhipAug 11, 2020TutorYeah, there is power to it. The amber lights stay on but none of my electronics recognize a connection, even ones that are wired directly. It doesn’t power up normally, but there is definitely power getting to it.

I'd still try a different power supply, if you have one. You never know if it damaged the thing without wrecking it. Even adapters come with tricksy electronics these days.
