Need some help!
We were told by our apartment complex that we just needed to get a router, plug it in, and we would have internet. I currently work from home so this is an issue. The device we have is a Netgear Night...

It seems like your apartment complex ay be providing internet to each unit. in whichcase, you will connect an Ethernet cable from the WAN port of the Netgear router, into the Ethernet jack in the apartment.Then set it up as a router and not an AP to be on the safe side.
Only down side is you will be behind a double NAT, thus certain tasks such as hosting a game server (e.g., runing your own minecraft or ark survival evolved server, will not work).
