Netgear Nighthawk RAX40 disconnecting wireless units from internet

I'm probably not as tech savvy as the rest of you, but I know when I don't have internet connection.  My conditions seem to be the same as everyone else who has purchased a Netgear Nighthawk Router.  My wireless equipment randomly stops receiving a signal.  Green lights are lit, but no signal output.  If I switch to hardwire adapter, still have a good internet connection and can keep on with my work.  Any wireless laptop, SmartTV, iPhone will just be out of luck until I pull the power plug for 2 seconds and repower-up.  Few minutes later, wireless is back up.

Spent hours on the phone with a person who first language is not English.  Finally tech support found the reset would not work; so they sent me another unit "just like the one I already had", yep the new one does the very same thing.  It was good for the first 2 days.  I was elated; finally no more dropped internet connections.  Spoke too soon.  Ever since this router was dropping wireless daily.  Seems a shame that Netgear may wind up going by the wayside like CompUSA. I always gave Netgear thumbs up, boy was I wrong again.  I join this list of people with the same common problem with Netgear products.  Probably hundreds, thousands more just like us, muddling through and putting up with poor performance like Netgear products.

  • Did you happen to do a search in the forum before you posted? Unfortunately this is the biggest major issue plaguing the RAX40 and other RAX wireless routers from Netgear who refuse to even provide any kind of support to us whatsoever. The only workaround at the moment is to revert your firmware version to version 1.0.3.64.
